Plain-language summary: we keep what the app needs to work, we keep identity-check evidence as briefly as we can, and you can delete everything.

What we collect, and why

Your account — email, display name and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), plus the date and version of the terms you accepted and your 18+ attestation. Used to sign you in, email you about your account and record your sign-up consent.
Your résumé — the choices and words you put on your profile. Other members see it only if you list yourself in Neighbors; your email, exact location and raw answers are never shown.
Your area — if you list yourself, the center of your ZIP code. Never your address or a precise location.
Conversations, likes, Lets, keepsakes — what you send and save. Your Vault is private to you.
Security activity — sign-ins, the device type and IP address they came from, so we can alert you to a new device and spot account takeovers.

ID check — we keep your state, date of birth, ZIP, the last four digits of your license number (and SSN, if you add one), a one-way hash of your name, and the result — the claims your reviewer compares to your document photo. We don't keep your full numbers.
ID photo review — if you upload a photo of your ID, a reviewer looks at it once. The image is deleted when they decide; we keep a record that a review happened, not the picture.
Selfie check — your phone samples a few tiny frames during the gesture and they're analyzed in memory. The pixels aren't stored, only a fingerprint (hash) used to stop replays, and the result.

Stripe processes payments. Your card details go to Stripe, not us.
Anthropic (the AI behind the Wingmate) receives the text of a prompt you submit, plus your résumé so the answer sounds like you — never your email, location or account details. Anthropic's API terms govern how it handles that text.
Email delivery and hosting providers carry messages and run our servers on our behalf.
OpenStreetMap services turn a ZIP code into a map location and find date spots.

We don't sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Hide or show yourself, and choose who can message you, in Boundaries.
Change your email or password, review signed-in devices, and sign out everywhere, in Account.
Delete your account in Account: your profile, conversations, keepsakes, likes, Lets, verification records and Wingmate history are removed with it. Reports other people filed about you may be kept for safety. Backups age out on their normal schedule.

We may keep or share information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect someone from serious harm.

The app is for adults only. If we learn someone under 18 has an account, we remove it.

If we change how we use your information in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email first.
